Bukola Opara is the founder and CEO of Buchi-Hafrikana Canada Incorporation, a fashion store specializing in ready-to-wear African attire for men, women, and children. Her boutique celebrates African culture while appealing to both Africans and enthusiasts of African fashion. Recently, Bukola expanded her business by opening a new store located at 40 Elm Street in the Rainbow Centre Mall, Sudbury.
Her entrepreneurial journey began after graduating as an Accountant from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. Coming from a family with a strong business background, she gained valuable experience early on, which helped her establish her first business in 2001. Initially, she focused on hats and imported garments from countries such as Dubai, Vietnam, and China.
In 2013, while living in the United States, Bukola shifted her focus to African wear, creating a unique brand that highlights traditional fabrics like Aso Oke, Tie-dye prints, Adire Batik, and Kaftans. Today, Buchi-Hafrikana continues to grow as a family-run business, with Bukola receiving strong support from her daughters, Adesewa and Oyindamola, ensuring its ongoing success and impact in the community.
