The Northern Ontario Business Growth Symposium, themed Building Black Business Ecosystems in the North, brought together entrepreneurs, ecosystem partners, and community leaders to share practical strategies for growing Black-owned businesses across Northern Ontario.
Laurentian University’s Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights Office (EDHRO) invites you to a Black History Month celebratory conference on February 10. Grounded in History, Growing in Joy: A Black Futures Conference is a three-part event that brings together the Laurentian community and our community partners in celebration of Black history, legacy, and joy. The conference opens with a keynote address by historian Dr. Amadou Ba, retracing the roots and evolution of Black history in Canada. This is followed by the Rooted in Joy sessions, featuring a panel discussion on experiences in the North, an art exhibition, and a community mingle with a tasting of African and Afro-Caribbean flavors. The Rooted in Joy exhibition is presented in partnership with Peer Programs and will be on display throughout the month of February in the Parker Atrium.
Hosted by the Afro Heritage Association of Sudbury in partnership with NOBEEP, Strategic Partner for Sudbury is a professional networking and engagement event focused on strengthening relationships and fostering strategic partnerships across Sudbury’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.
